Lower Back Pain

At SAEXP we are experienced in working with lower back pain that has occurred from an acute movement, chronic injury or trauma as well as back pain with no known cause or pathological issue. Long term lower back pain can result in movement avoidance which can often exacerbate the pain response. A strong back is a resilient back and when loaded appropriately, strengthening the muscles of the lower back can improve range of motion and reduce pain. Decreasing pain and increasing function will help improve your movement quality, allowing you to return to activities you may be unable to currently participate in, reducing the impact lower back pain has on your life.

Exercising for lower back pain with an Exercise Physiologist can help the following:

  • Improve confidence in physical capacity
  • Restore range of motion
  • Improve muscular strength
  • Reduce physical decline
  • Reduce the burden of lower back pain
